NOTE: You should have already purchased Verizon Online Backup & Sharing space with your Primary Account. If you haven't purchased Verizon Online Backup & Sharing space, learn the details here (url here).
PRIMARY ACCOUNTS & SUB-ACCOUNTS
A Primary Account is the account which was created when you first signed up for your Verizon Online broadband Internet service.
A Sub-account is an account that you create with your Primary Account. You can have several Sub-Accounts - up yo nine of them, but you can only have one Primary Account. Giving a friend or a family member an e-mail address with your Primary Account is the same as a Sub-Account.
NOTE: Your Primary Account must have an e-mail address set up. If you don’t have a Verizon Online email account, such as, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , you cannot create sub-accounts for Verizon Online Backup & Sharing.
CREATING A SUB-ACCOUNT
In order to create a Sub-Account, you must sign into your Verizon Broadband service.
After Sign In, you will be brought to your Verizon Central Home Page. Click on 'Account Tools', or you can click on 'My Account'. Either choice will take you to the My Account page.
Scroll down the My Account page to the bottom and look for a module titled 'Sub-Accounts'.
Click 'Add a new Sub-Account'.
You will be taken to the Setup New Sub-Account page.
It is important that you fill in all the information on this page and follow the instructions for each step in order to create one Sub-Account.
When you have finished, just click the Create Sub-Account button. It's important that you only click it once to allow Verizon Online to create your Sub-Account.
When your Sub-Account has been created, you will be directed to go back to the My Account page where you will continue with the space allocation process.
VERIZON ONLINE BACKUP & SHARING SPACE ALLOCATION
Scroll down the My Account page and look for the Broadband Essentials & Extra box.
In this case, you'll notice that Verizon Online Backup & Sharing has previously been purchased and is listed in the Broadband Essentials & Extras box.
To allocate space to the sub-account, click 'Edit/View Details'.
You are now in the View/Allocate Verizon Online Backup & Sharing window.
Here, you will see the Primary Account and the Sub-Accounts listed below it. In this case, there is only one sub-account.
In order for you to allocate space from the Primary Account to a Sub-Account, you must first reduce the storage space of the Primary Account by the amount that you want to allocate to the Sub-Account.
For example, suppose you want to allocate1,000 MB of space to the Sub-Account. You must first reduce that amount from the Primary Account, like this.
Next, under the Storage Space Access column, click ON the on/off button for the sub-accounts to which you want to allocate space.
Then, type in 1,000 MB to the Sub-Account, like this.
If you make a mistake, just click on RESET to start the process over.
When you're finished, click 'Save Changes' to save your changes!
That's it! Simple, huh?
